ABOUT US

WHAT WE DO

The McCall Music Society was incorporated on May 9, 1988. Since that time the Society has hosted a variety of musical performances and educational opportunities for the benefit of local musicians, audiences, and students. In so doing, our aim is to enrich the cultural climate of the McCall area. The McCall Music Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation. Contributions to the Society are tax-deductible.
Our motto is “A great community deserves great music!” As a Gold rated GuideStar 501 (c) (3) we are very active in making our motto a reality. We produce the McCall MusicFest each year, featuring Maestro Eric Garcia directing a week of classical and pops music.  This year’s concerts are July 22,24, and 27.  We also sponsor the Second Sunday Sounds programs providing free concerts open to the community featuring renowned artists monthly.  We provide opportunities for choral and orchestral participation in the community with our annual Christmas and Spring concerts.  One of our prized programs is the High Mountain Strings program which provides musical instruction and instruments to students in the local area.  We also award scholarships to these students and post high school scholarships for those pursuing a degree in music.

Our mission is to enrich the cultural climate in our community while supporting local musicians, audiences and students.

We hope you will join us in this effort.

MCCALL CONCERT SINGERS

The McCall Chorale draws its membership from the surrounding communities of Cascade, Donnelly, McCall, New Meadows, Riggins, and even Council and Indian Valley. Our choir consists of people with diverse backgrounds and musical experiences. There are no auditions; we only ask that you are willing to commit your time and energy to practice on your own, and attend rehearsals and performances.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Beyerle/Fry Scholarship was created in 1990 after a generous donation was made to the McCall Music Society in memory of our dear friend and arts patron, Dorothy Beyerle. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist talented and dedicated young local musicians.

The Rey Vertrees Post High School Music Scholarship for students who wish to pursue their musical endeavors both as instrumentalists and as vocalists upon graduation.

MCCALL CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

The McCall Orchestra also draws its membership from the surrounding communities and includes local students, amateurs as well as professional musicians. There are no auditions but we ask for your commitment to practicing on your own and attending rehearsals and performances.
